In my mind i build cities. This is a show of two nights work in one go. top piece was what i managed yesterday, lower half shows the progress made since. as usual, thoughts, opinions, critiques and friendly banter always welcome as usal all visuals (C) simonpark81. no reusing/editing or publishing my work qithout my written consent..
paths that branch in hidden places where only those who are intended find the turns... Building on top of building on top of building... and always pyramids... arches of earth yearning towards something... spikes of earth defending against something... the floating islands are the first step of escape. Distance from the disease... Are we strong enough to fight it so that the weak may return and once more sicken us?
indeed, or will our world become this atrophied desolation im drawing now? i actually put this one on hiatus before i started my kiribans, and havent taken it back out again yet. i really ought to, i like how its looking
Lol I've been working on something very similar to this for someone's environment art for a game. Great minds think alike! I'm fond of rock gollums made out of mountains
wish i could find the companies looking for these designers too... its the sort of thing i would love to make a living from. i could draw a mountain gollum instead of a paradigm piece if you wants for our collaboration? or add one to the piece? or make a paradigm from a mountain gollum... im having to rethink strategy right now, two people just caught my kiriban, so my work is back on full time again.. (i didnt know 2 ppl could catch a kiriban at same time)
Hehe, tbh its nearly always by chance!! I have an old gollum I never finished you could use / edit to fit what you want and give a twist to it if you like? I'll put him in scraps, never got further than sketching him He just needed a bit of quirk. Lol turn him into the paradigm>?
Oh god really? I dont do kiribans, I learnt the first time!!
i can definately have a look, im thinking something up already though to be honest lol maybe i can use him as reference? collaborations are so fun because you can mix style, and influences yeah, im starting to wonder what people think when they are trying to catch a kiriban. im a fantasy/sci-fi/surrealist that refuses to draw other peoples creations and i keep getting asked to draw other peoples characters and regular scenarios, like some person doing something... i wonder if they actually looked through my gallery first and thought about what they are asking for. i am trying to be taken seriously as an illustrative artist...i wanna stay away from copying ideas and infringing copyrights. i guess i asked for it, anyway. now if only someone would buy something
This is the thing, I used to be like that, refusing to draw what other people wanted if it was something they had or fan art. The problem being to begin with, you make it harder for yourself because you need to be known to get more work, and if you refuse work you don't get anywhere, kind've a do what you're paid for and put reservations aside for personal work kind've cache 22 :/
yeah, im trying to be entirely impartial these days where possible. i guess i have to take life by the horns and just hold on until i get where i would like to be...regardless of preconceptions.
